So of course my first post should explain why exactly my blog is named "Go get the Cart." It represents all the moments of madness you feel when you must do a mundane task, yet its those moments that stay with you for a long time.
My first home with my husband was on my college campus in a condo on the 7th floor of a fairly old building. Though I am very fond of my first home, it still was pretty much similar to a college dorm, where you live there during the week but go home to your family on the weekends. My husband and I did just that every single week. On Friday night, I'd pack up my school books,
laptop, and he'd pack up our dirty laundry, and we'd head home for the weekend. Home was my parents home or his parents home, both in the same suburb forty minutes southwest of us.
Sunday night we'd return with even a fuller car, this time returning with groceries in addition to what was now our clean laundry. Because our parking lot was across the street, we'd have to usually stop in front of the building so I could unload the groceries in order to take them upstairs. Thus, it became a weekend routine for us to have a quiet ride home on Sunday night, and my husband to pull up in front of our building, turn to me, and say, "Go get the cart, Nadiah." It was always my duty and I absolutely hated doing it, and so it became an inside joke between us. I told him then that when I write my bestselling book, I'll name it Go get the Cart. Well, this isn't a book, but when I was talking to a friend about starting a blog, there was no other name that was appropriate. With that, I must put my daughter to sleep and hope that my blog is not boring for you all to read.
